You have an Invitation to a Beheading

Reading Lolita in Tehran failed to live up to it's promise really. I think most of us thought it had some interesting parts, but did not add up to a very good whole. But it DID make us want to read some more Nabokov, so the next book is Invitation to a Beheading by Vladimir Nabokov. And because we're not meeting for another month, we also have The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson as a bonus book, so feel free to try and read either or both.

Runners up were:
Wandering Star - JMG Le Clezio
The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet - David Mitchell
The Finkler Question - Howard Jocobsen
So Much for That - Lionel Shriver
We Need to Talk About Kevin - Lionel Shriver
She Came to Stay - Simone de Beauvoir
A Suitable Boy - Vikram Seth

So have a good Christmas and New Year, and see you in 2011!
